Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about financing

Financing used equipment comes with its own rules. We've compiled the questions we hear most often here. If yours isn't among them, give us a call.

01 What types of financing do you offer for used equipment?

We offer three main options depending on your profile. Equipment leasing suits businesses that want to spread the cost of equipment over several years while preserving their cash flow. It's also a popular choice among contractors and farmers who regularly renew their equipment.

Farm loans are designed for farms and agricultural operations. Our specialized partners understand the realities of farming and offer solutions tailored to the sector, such as seasonal income, production cycles and one-off equipment investments.

Personal financing is for buyers who want to acquire equipment for their personal needs. Each situation is assessed individually to find the solution best suited to the customer's project and budget.

02 What is the interest rate for financing used equipment?

The rate varies according to several factors, including your credit history, the type of financing chosen, the age of the machine, the amount financed, and the term length.

As we work with several financial partners, we can compare different options to offer you the most advantageous solution for your situation.

To find out your rate, contact us, and we will analyze your project free of charge.

03 Can I get financing if my credit history isn't perfect?

Yes, it is possible. We work with several financial partners who accept different profiles and business realities.

Each case is unique and analyzed based on several criteria. Even if your situation is not perfect, there are often solutions adapted to your project.

Contact us to discuss your situation in complete confidentiality.

04 How long does approval take?

Timelines vary depending on the type of financing and how quickly the required documents are submitted. In most cases, when we promptly receive all the information we need, approval comes through in 48 hours; disbursement follows according to the financing partner's terms.

Our team supports you throughout the process to keep delays to a minimum and keep you informed of your application's progress.

05 What documents do I need to provide to apply for financing?

For an individual: valid ID, your two most recent pay stubs (or your latest notice of assessment if you're self-employed) and sometimes proof of address. If you have outstanding debts (car loan, mortgage), we may also ask for the balances to get a complete picture.

For a business: financial statements for the last two years, your recent GST/QST returns, the company's charter or articles of incorporation, and ID for the officer(s). For a farm, we sometimes add production reports. For a new business with no track record, we can rely on the shareholders' personal statements.

We send you a precise list based on your situation, without asking for unnecessary paperwork. The idea is to move quickly, not to bury your file in documents.

06 Equipment leasing or traditional loan: what's the difference?

With a traditional loan, you own the machine from the moment of purchase and repay the financed amount according to the agreed terms.

With equipment leasing, you use the equipment in exchange for monthly payments over a set period. At the end of the term, you generally have the option to buy the machine or upgrade your equipment.

For many businesses, leasing also offers attractive tax advantages. In many situations, monthly payments can be treated as an operating expense, whereas with a traditional loan, only the interest and depreciation are generally deductible. For a farmer or a contractor, this difference can have a significant impact on the business's tax planning.

07 Is it possible to finance a machine without seeing it in person?

Yes. Many of our customers purchase their equipment remotely, from all over Quebec, Canada and the United States.

Before making a decision, we can provide detailed photos, videos of the machine in operation, as well as available information on its condition, maintenance and features. If you would like to see a particular item, we can also take additional photos or videos upon request.

Once the transaction is completed, we coordinate the preparation and delivery of your equipment to its destination.

08 Are taxes and delivery included in the financing?

Yes. In many cases, applicable taxes and delivery costs can be included in the financing.

This lets you spread all the costs of buying your equipment over the term of the financing rather than paying them at the time of the transaction.

Since every situation is different, we can help you determine the most advantageous option for your project and financial situation.
